Atkinson Auto Body
& Mechanical Repair Services

Count on Us for All of Your Automotive Needs

At Bunting's Auto Body LLC, our services go well beyond our name. In addition to auto body work and collision repair, we perform mechanical repairs and diagnostics on all vehicle makes and models. We’re also an official New Hampshire State Inspection facility, and we sell good-condition used vehicles at a fair price. Our customers truly count on us for all of their automotive needs.

Antique & Classic Car Restoration

Another area we specialize in is automotive restoration. Many antique and classic cars that we’ve restored right here in Atkinson have gone on to win awards and best of show trophies. Whether we’re helping you get back on the road after an accident or giving your dream car a new lease on life, we’ll provide honest advice and high-quality work that you can trust and appreciate.

Preparation and Painting

Preparation and Painting

The paint of your vehicle is what prevents it from deteriorating and rusting. There are many types of paints and many ways to apply them. We then replace or repair any part that is damaged. Since our foremost concern is for your safety, we use factory standard and quality after- market parts. Any rusted parts will need to be replaced.

Some people think that once you purchase a new panel for a vehicle, it's ready to be painted. Unfortunately that is not necessarily the case. Many new panels have to be straightened, gaps have to be filled, and this can be a time consuming process, but it's very necessary to get a beautiful looking vehicle.

Existing paint has to be removed with sanding and any filling also needs to be sanded until the body of the car is totally smooth.

The paint process itself is a multi-step procedure. Many layers have to be applied to the vehicle to make it last a long time, and look just like new.

The following are some of the layers that are applied to all vehicles we restore.

The primer is the coating layer that protects the vehicle from corrosion, sunlight, rust, etc. It also smoothes out irregularities on the surface of the car or truck.

Basecoat is the coating layer that gives color and an aesthetic look. Our base coatings won't fade for many, many years, keeping the color of your vehicle looking just like new.

The clear coat is the top coating layer that protects all other layers from the elements. Day after day it withstands acids, sunlight, rain and every beating your vehicle takes from normal "wear and tear". It also gives your car or truck the shine of a new vehicle.

Working for the Customer, Not the Insurance Company

As an independent shop, we work for the customer rather than the insurance company. We’ll perform the repairs that are best for you and your vehicle—not the insurance company’s bottom line. That’s not to say we won’t work with your insurance company. We will, and we’ll make sure you’re getting the best repair possible under your policy.

Auto Body Work

Auto Body Work

We can absolutely handle the collision repairs you need. In fact, whereas some dealerships might have an auto body repair facility, they mainly specialize in car sales. We, on the other hand, specialize in auto body and collision work. We constantly keep our technicians trained on every aspect of body work so you can be certain your vehicle is in the hands of professionals.

A correctly done collision repair brings the car to the same specifications in look and safety that it had when it was originally built.

An accident will distort the shape of the car, so we start by taking the vehicle apart and getting its chassis back to original specifications.

We then replace or repair any part that is damaged. Since our foremost concern is for your safety, we don't use low quality, after-market parts, but only parts that pass all factory standards. Any rusted parts are also replaced.
